The ugliest thing in the world is sin. In spite of what some so-called wise philosophers and psychologists, and even modern theologians say…sin is a great reality. No one but a fool will deny this plain fact.
Fools make a mock at sin…
Observation says that sin is a reality
We have only to read or watch the day-to-day news, Facebook, Twitter, and so on to be reminded that sin is a glaring reality, for on every hand we see and hear of crime and war, divorce, broken hearts, broken homes, and death.
Experience says that sin is a reality
There is no need to read our paper, watch the evening news, or scroll the news threads and social media to be convinced about the reality of sin, all we have to do is look at our own heart, and we shall find that we are unclean.
They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
With sin being an undeniable, universal problem, a question has plagued humankind for centuries: “How can I escape its hold upon my life? How can I be set free from sin?” To answer this question lets take a look at Proverbs 28:13.
