Bible Text: 1 Timothy 5:21-25 | Preacher: Adam Gibbs | Series: 1 Timothy - The Rules for God's House After addressing these other things, the need to provoke each other to love and good works, the need to support those who are weak through provision and direction, and then the need to take watch care over the leadership; Paul now challenges Timothy with the charge to watch yourself. There is a fine line that is drawn, and an arduous balancing act that takes place within our spiritual walks and the life of a church. We demonstrate our faith through the compassion we show towards each other, but as Tozer alluded, corporate religion is only perfected through private religion. We must be a Martha in action, but that action must be conducted with the heart of Mary. Let us be active while sitting at the feet of Jesus. We must be calling others to lives of holiness, while also being attentive to our own personal holiness. (See also: 1 Corinthians 10:12; Matthew 26:41; 1 Peter 5:8)
